Designing your Wedding Dress – “The Cutting Edge”.
Over the course of the last 25 years, brides have chosen to have their dresses made by us, whether they are in Scotland or overseas. The design done, the fabric chosen, the wedding gown is them made in a series of stages – the cutting out of toile, 1st fitting – the alterations if any – subsequent fittings (on average 3-4) and then completion. The time taken to do this varies according to style chosen and detail required. So, why buy a ready-made dress when you can have an exclusive dress made for you:- a truly lovely experience – and the result is a Scottish designed and made exclusive bridal gown.
There is one way, however, to make sure your wedding dress outshines others, and that is to use our design skills and have your wedding gown made in Scotland by Lorna of Exclusively Yours.
You can see many examples of our wedding dresses at the Wedding Gallery.
Designing is both highly personal and subjective, and we build up a special rapport between ourselves and you, the bride.
Come and see our portfolios of dresses, and have your input in the designing and then take pleasure in being part of the process – seeing what began as a sketch developing into reality! I am keen to pay attention to detail, so that all elements of the design are just right.
I usually support and even act as confidante on the run up to the wedding, culminating in dressing the bride and/or all the family on the big day, so that your walk down the aisle is a smooth one. I take great care and pay attention to every detail such as visiting the venue or having sound knowledge of it as the dress must be designed with this in mind. For example at a Chinese wedding, I designed a red and gold dress and also made a hairpiece using chopsticks in the bride’s hair.
